GET CONNECTED! JOIN THE CONNECTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY TEAM
The Connections to the Community team is looking for additional members. The team is responsible for communications to community members and the general public about the Mission and programs of Christ Lutheran Church.
Our purpose is to engage the community in the life of the church and let everyone know they are welcome here. Communications has been identified in the current Strategic Planning process as one of the key themes for future growth of CLC.
The team is especially seeking more members with skills in online communications and social media. The church’s response to the coronavirus pandemic has led to an explosion of digital communications using Zoom, Facebook, and other online media for worship services, small groups, Council, and team meetings, etc. We expect this to continue even after the church reopens and in-person activities resume.
The team is also responsible for issuing press releases and representing CLC at local events such as Community Day each August (postponed until 2021).
Information originates from the church office. The team coordinates all communications with Pastor Phil and Joleen Miller, Office Manager, who maintains the church website and monitors/promotes social media activities.
Anyone interested in helping the church grow through Connections to the Community is welcome on the team. Please contact Dave Willard at [email protected] or 631-697-7970 (cell) to get involved or find out more.
There are so many ways to get involved at Christ Lutheran Hellertown. Our lists of Teams, Sunday Morning Activities and Adult Activities will give you a good idea of what we’re doing here within the church and what we’re doing in our community and the world. We think you will find there is something here for everyone.

Sunday Morning Youth Education
Children ages birth to Kindergarten
Nursery Room: We provide a safe and fun place for our littlest members to play until they are ready to sit through the church service.
Children ages 4 through 6th grade
Sunday School: Our congregation is a welcoming and open community that encourages families of all walks of life to come and share God’s word of love and acceptance. All children are welcome to come and be themselves and see what God has in store for them.
Youth in 7th and 8th grades
Confirmation Group: This group consists of church youth, typically in the 7th and 8th grades, that are seeking to reaffirm the commitment to learn and grow in faith made on their behalf at their baptism. We continue our faith journey together, striving to understand that we are all God’s children: black or white… young or old… male or female… Muslim or Christian… Jew or gentile… We meet on Sunday mornings during the Christian Education hour and on other special occasions to learn about and discuss faith issues that confront us in everyday life. In the process, the youth will hopefully better understand the great gifts we all have of God’s unconditional, infinite love and grace—gifts we can never earn but ones that are always freely given—gifts we are called to respond to with a heart that is filled with love and hands committed to service toward one another.
Youth in 9th through 12th grade
