Fellow members of Christ Lutheran,
As leadership seeks to navigate this unprecedented time, I want to share my great appreciation and thanks to our pastor, church staff, mission teams & fellow council members who have been diligently following the health advisories and listening to many of your concerns. We are working hard to adapt and provide a safe and reasonable plan to sustain the mission we share at Christ Lutheran, while still maintaining a significant presence of God in our lives.
Thankfully, as of today, we have been able to pay all of our staff and teachers their full compensation. At this time, we are exploring all the options available to us through the government’s CARES Act to determine what options make the most sense for us to continue to compensate our employees throughout this pandemic. I can assure you that we are exploring every avenue possible and doing everything we can to help keep life as normal as possible for all in our church community, while continuing to maintain the financial stability of our church.
We do not know how long these alternative measures will be in place, but I want to be proactive in getting this message to you. Thank you for your faithfulness and your monetary giving to the church and its mission. We are appreciative to those that have also made additional gifts as “A Step in Faith” contributions. As I am sure you can understand, the church council is concerned we could find ourselves with a sizeable financial gap if this pandemic continues for several months. Although we have had more of our members begin to contribute electronically, a large percentage still contributes via the offering or with envelopes. As is typical with most churches, we distribute funds out as they are received and hold, as most churches do, a minimal cash reserve. So, in these strange times, I’m asking you to consider other ways you can give your offering when you’re not present at the church so the faithful work of HIS disciples can continue via our benevolences, staff, and church operations.
Ways you can give are:
1. Visit the church website at http://clcht.org/
2. Scroll down on the page to the box shown as: “Online Giving and Learning Center Payments”
3. Click on this box to take you to the site to provide details of your giving.
4. Complete the information required, including allocating your giving towards the “General Operating” fund.
5. Consider making “Donation Frequency” monthly.
Of course, you can continue to give by sending checks to:
Christ Lutheran Church
69 Main Street
Hellertown, PA 18055
Plus, now you can also give via text! Send a text message to Christ Lutheran Church of Hellertown’s dedicated line at 844-612-6665 with the amount you would like to contribute. Within a few minutes, you’ll be sent a text with a link to register. Click on the link and enter your cardholder name and debit or card information. Once your registration is complete, you will receive a text verification and a receipt of your donation via email. For future giving, send a text with the amount you wish to give, and it will process automatically! You can even text “repeat” to make it a recurring donation.
We also know that some may experience furloughs or layoffs during this uncertain time. We hope that you will contact the office, that we may walk alongside and be with you during this challenging time. We will continue to work with each other as the Body of Christ in different ways during this interim period. If you have any difficulty setting up an online gift, please call the church office for assistance.
What is most important is for you and your family to stay safe and healthy. We will continue to communicate with you about all aspects of church life as information becomes available.
Please stay safe, stay strong & stay positive!
Best regards always,
Christopher D. Myers
CLC Council President
