Pastor Phil lives by the mantra, “I can’t get my heart to accept anything my mind rejects”. He wants your faith to be real, important, and vibrant in your life. Your faith is your own, and it needs to make sense. Don’t check your brains at the church door, instead, ask questions, make your faith a never ending journey of growth and exploration.
Contemporary theologians like, father Richard Rohr, Rob Bell, Pete Enns, Bishop Jack Spong, Marcus Borg, and Walter Bruggeman have informed his faith journey.
At “Log in your Eye church”, a favorite pet name of Christ Lutheran, we take scripture seriously but not literally. We value questions, not certainty. We welcome all people, even if they don’t believe what we believe, and we don’t all believe the same thing! We are all searching and what a better place to search than a church that is a SAFE place!
We don’t classify, members and visitors, we welcome anyone to get involved and help us to love like Jesus.
